Scott Pallets Barry supports back to work initiative

Scott Pallets, in Barry, has taken on two new members of staff under a back to work initiative run by Vale of Glamorgan Council for the long-term unemployed.

Jason Lewis (36) and Michael Burford (30), both from Barry, were recruited by Scott Pallets after a referral from the Life Long Learning team, in the hope of seeking permanent employment.

The Life Long Learning Service works in partnership with local services and organisations, throughout the Vale of Glamorgan, to provide quality learning opportunities and information resources that meet the needs of individuals and groups. 

Paul Marks, Employer Liaison Officer explains, "Our aim is to develop and promote a culture of lifelong learning for all in the community.  In this instance, Scott Pallets have provided a platform for both Jason and Michael to develop a clear progression route from learning, which enhances further learning, broadening a skill set that optimistically provides an employment opportunity."
